Willi Wildflower is pleased to be back in full swing with the 2015 wedding season in full effect. This weekend's wedding was at Pie Ranch in Pescadero. A lovely setting for this wild and whimsical affair. Loved working with some of favorite all-stars: Foxglove, Hellebore, Peonies. Loving all the Spring ingredients that are making their way into the studio.
After a little winter hibernation, it sure feels good to step back in the office and have a fresh new perspective with florals. This week marks my first wedding of the season and I couldn't be happier. I've been getting back in touch with local farms and seeing what flowers are showing there faces this dry early spring, and with my garden slowly establishing itself over the last 2 years I can finally start taking some cuttings from the yard. Looking forward to all the lovely celebrations for 2015!
Inspiration and growth have a direct correlation to one other when it comes to work. I follow a gaggle of other florist on my Instagram to find new ideas and motivation. One of my favorites is Studio Choo; their gorgeous and effortless style makes them the perfect nominee for one of the best floral muses. I recently signed up for one of their classes and watching them at work was fantastic. I came home with a new motivation and a renewed urge to create. Since then I've been making one arrangement a week just for myself. Sometimes when we take our passions and build them into our careers the fun gets lost in the process and everything becomes business. Reconnecting with that initial spark and eagerness is pivotal for keeping your work fresh, new, and challenging. Take the time to remind yourself what brought you to where you are today and take pleasure in work and enjoy it!
Willi Wildflower offers unique, seasonal flowers from local growers. Bouquets are thoughtfully designed and inspired by nature: loose, whimsical, organic, with a touch of wild. If you're looking for a dozen red roses (most likely grown in Ecuador, fragrance free, and full of pesticides) we are not the florist for you. Please place orders by Feb. 10th to help guarantee availability.
Hand tied bouquets wrapped in satin ribbon start at $65 and petite arrangements in unique, re-usable vessels start at $75. Give us a call (831)325-1553 or shoot us an e-mail: email@example.com We'd love to create the perfect arrangement just for you!!
This wedding was drop you to your knees gorgeous. Located in beautiful Napa at a private home & winery you couldn't have dreamed for a more perfect location. We let the centerpieces be "simple" and they simply spoke for themselves. Lush olive garland filled the table (the perfect compliment to the olive tree filled property) with seasonal figs, guavas, and flowers braided in, all lit in candle light for the ultimate romantic evening.
One of the most adorable couples to date! Bridget & Matt had a ridiculously romantic Tuscan inspired wedding at the incredible Holman Ranch. This venue creates such a wonderful atmosphere in and of itself it was an absolute pleasure to dress it up with delicate and feminine flowers.

I've been so busy working on weddings that I haven't had much time to share some of the treasures that have been carted out of the studio doors. I finally uploaded some photos(from my lil iphone) from this summer and came across some snapshots I took of the flowers for Jacques & Audrey's Fort Mason wedding. I love the gold accent of the containers and the hand painted gold eucalyptus. Such a gorgeous wedding palette don't you think?
Here's a few more photos from the very talented Diana Rothery!
Today started out like a dream. I finally got around to making a trip to Santa Cruz Dahlias (Blackbird Farm) to meet the wonderfully talented Kristine Albrecht. I wasn't sure what to expect, but as soon as pulled up to wooden gate as instructed, I could see the most gargantuan dahlia heads peeking over the fence at me.
I'm so thrilled to be in connected with Kristine. She recently took best in show at the San Leandro Flower Show, and was awarded Biggest Bloom in San Francisco this weekend. The quality of her dahlias are incomparable to anything I've seen. I look forward to working with Kristine and her unbelievable blooms on upcoming events!
We had 2 weddings this weekend, which kept me very busy, hence not much time to take any photos. I did snap a quick photo of Denise's bouquet because I couldn't help myself. Here you go...
Beautiful Mt. Madonna bohemian wedding. So grateful to have been a part of this incredible celebration....
One of my favorite weddings to date!! I had so much fun working on Lauren's gorgeous bohemian bouquet! It was such a treat to play with so many incredible textures and vibrant colors, contrasted with a delicate floral crown. A huge thank you to the VERY talented Nick Radford for his incredible photos!!
I recently came across this beautiful post by Alice Mourou and had to share. Feeling inspired to muster up some serious patience and matriculate attention to detail and try my hand at floral type. Click here to see the post.
We've fallen far behind this season on our updates. We've been busy with weddings and best friends getting married. I couldn't be happier for my very best friend Megan to tie the knot with the incredible Levi. The venue was amazing! Teepees, lawn game, Redwood groves, it was a wedding venue fairy land. All in our stomping grounds of San Gregorio. Megan, Levi, and I all grew up in Half Moon Bay and some how had remained oblivious to the hidden gem that is OVY Camp until this summer. If you've never heard of it and are looking for an amazing venue where friends & family can gather for the whole weekend I highly recommend you check this place out. But be warned, it is rustic. It's a kids summer camp after all. So if teepees, bonfire, tiny cabins aren't your thing then.... then your crazy.
Any how, between all the prep and catching up with friends I only had a chance to sneak a few photos, so here they are.
Design and flowers are my passion. Today, if I could do anything, I would have some of the Mother's Day arrangements I made transcribed into wallpaper. Yes, I'm being self indulgent and a bit egotistical, but would you say no to either of these as a wallpaper?
A girl can dream. And if you happen to be a wallpaper manufacturer and are reading this, I will trade you free flowers for life in exchange of 4 rolls of these two images. Thank you in advance.
Mother's Day is coming up, and Willi Wildflower is stocking up on gorgeous seasonal blooms that she is guaranteed to love! Deliveries start at $75. Please place orders by Thursday night!
For the most part I can honestly say I am thrilled when I deliver an arrangement to its enthusiastic recipient. But last week I had a moment when I didn't want to let go.... It was an arrangement for a party. It just got to me. Dogwood (heart flutter). Foxgloves from my garden that I watched grow back this year with delight. A few of my own Icelandic Poppies to add to the robust one's from the Flower Market (seriously there's are tall, strong, beautiful specimens; like the Michael Jordan's of poppies). Anyways, long story short, I brought this arrangement into my living room and just fell madly in love with it, enjoying the last few hours I had with it before it had to get carted away. Even the pup seemed to enjoy it.
The recipients were thrilled and appreciated it as much as I did. But leaving the venue I felt like a parent leaving their child on the first day of preschool. I missed it so much driving home with an empty van. It was ridiculous. Then I realized I was being ridiculous. Then I went and sat in my garden and looked at the few Foxgloves that remained and silently planned my ambush for the next arrangement that would be just mine. Cause sometimes you just have to treat yourself.
The sun is out, the bees are buzzing, and the garden is blooming!! Narcissus, Daffodils, Clematis, and Poppies (just to name a few) are showing up in abundance. We are thrilled to be working with a growing selection of local, seasonal flowers. Our first wedding of 2014 is right around the corner. Willi Wildflower is excited to welcome Spring, her blooms, and all the love that she in store for us this season.
Wedding season is flirting around the calendar corner and we're falling in love all over again. Before it's standing us in the face we're scavenging around and boosting our booty of unique and beautiful vessels. We found this awesome tutorial from Say Yes on DIY gold leaf vases. Try it out and let us know what you think. Happy crafting!
